Wasabi Theme 2.0 is here, the biggest update so far…

What does this update include?

🔝 New «Best-selling products» or «Best seller» Block

• Perfect for automatic websites or to complement manual websites with lists of best-selling products according to a search query.
• Compatible with Amazon, AliExpress, and eBay.
• Configurable product limit, from 1 to 30 products.
• Four different styles.
• Configurable number of columns (from 1 to 5 columns).
• Information obtained and displayed from the API (the style of each element can be changed):
  • Product name (3 styles). You can restrict the maximum number of words.
  • Product image.
  • Two CTAs (5 styles, configurable text, and colors) with affiliate links.
  • Product features list (3 styles). You can restrict the maximum number of features and the maximum number of words per feature.
  • Current price (5 styles).
  • Discount (5 styles).
  • Price before discount (5 styles).
  • Amazon Prime / eBay Top Seller logo.
  • Amazon / eBay / AliExpress icon or logo.
• Each element mentioned above can be enabled/disabled globally or in individual blocks.

🚀 Substantial Web Performance Optimization (WPO)

• Whole PHP code rewritten from scratch in order to optimize performance and RAM memory management. We are not exaggerating, we changed 98% of the lines of the code. The ZIP weight has dropped from 3MB to 1.7MB. The code is now more efficient and robust.
• Wasabi Theme no longer depends on jQuery (too heavy). If you do not use other plugins that do require jQuery, it will no longer load.
• Option to defer JavaScript loading for some seconds or until user interaction. Very useful to improve Core Web Vitals on sites with Google AdSense.
• Option to defer JavaScript execution, thus avoiding block rendering to complement or supplement the option we offered to not block said rendering: move scripts to the footer.
• Option to automatically add width and height attributes to images that do not have them to improve visual jumps and, therefore CLS.
• Option to inline critical Wasabi Theme scripts, slightly reducing latency.
• Option to change the loading type of Google Fonts: swap, auto, optional (recommended).
• Optimized Google Fonts loading with preload and prefetch, whether they are loaded asynchronously or not.
• Updated Google AdSense auto ads codein order to improve loading speed.

🔖New data, styles and options in product blocks and comparison tables

• You will see the product data obtained from the API in the block editor itself (name, pros, description, image, price, etc.) in real-time.
• More elements are now obtained from the API and the style of each can be changed:
  • Product name (3 styles). You can restrict the maximum number of words.
  • Product image.
  • Two CTAs (5 styles, configurable text and colors) with affiliate link.
  • List of features. (3 styles). You can restrict the maximum number of features and the maximum number of words per feature.
  • Product description.
  • Current price (5 styles).
  • Discount (5 styles).
  • Price before discount (5 styles).
  • Amazon Prime / eBay Top Seller logo.
  • Amazon / eBay / AliExpress icon or logo within the CTAs.
• You can individuallyshow or hide any previous element, either globally or in individual blocks from Wasabi settings.
• Review, features and CTAs dynamic variables: you will be able to use the variables {wasabi_price}, {wasabi_discount}, {wasabi_source} and {wasabi_name} that will be replaced by the price, discount, data source or product name in real time.{wasabi_source}{wasabi_name} {wasabi_price} {wasabi_discount}

• Only in the product block:
  • Possibility to add other blocks, shortcodes and HTML within the description field of the product block.
  • Option to change the maximum number of features’ columns (pros/cons) in the product block.
  • Added two extra styles.

🎨 Style upgrading and general design improvements

• We have updated all the styles to achieve a more modern result, with more stylized borders and shadows. If you wish to go back to an older look, you can disable both the shadows and rounded edges from Wasabi Theme settings.
• Options to change the shadow, text and background color of all CTAs globally.

🛠️ Other improvements

• Option to hide the cart from the header in WooCommerce.
• Adapted the integration with the latest version of eBay’s API.
• New page in the administration panel to control and empty Wasabi Theme’s products cache. It can be accessed from the Wasabi menu.
• You can now enable automatic updates if you have activated a Wasabi Theme license on your website.
• The «quote» field of the «testimonial» block already allows HTML.
• Many other performance, usability and design improvements.
• Many bugs have been fixed.
